Hello there, Diva! My name is Kay and Kay's Hair Extensions was created to provide women with the information, support, and tools necessary to switch up their hairstyles. I love changing my hairstyles whenever and however I feel like it and I believe that all women should have the choice to do so!
About 7 years ago, I was in college looking to create a side hustle that would generate some income to support my college life, along with the money my parents were sending. During that time, I didn't know that I would end up creating an empire that would soon support women all over the world in various walks of life. While building my empire, I've obtained a Bachelor's in Community Health and a Minor in Social Work from the University of Central Missouri.
So WHAT made me get into hair extensions, you ask?
I come from a family FULL of women who have always expressed themselves through their hair. You name the color, I've seen them ALL! Being raised in such an empowering enviornment encouraged me to want to use my gifts to help others realize that they too can express themselves through their hair. I have also experienced hair loss and breakage from not fully understanding how to care for my hair while wearing extensions; so I made it my job to ensure no woman ever has to experience that.
I've learned, its not the hair or the hair color that RADIATES BEAUTY, its YOU, the INDIVIDUAL. Your style, the way that you strut, and the way that you speak your truth is what gives the hair LIFE.
I can proudly say that I have taught myself how to create wigs by hand and by sewing maching, and I have also began diving more into customizing colors! I have had the pleasure of creating more than a few custom wigs for a couple of my clients in addition to custom coloring a few units but my dream is to connect with insurance companies to provide Medical wigs to my Diva Warriors.
I am a strong advocate of women switching up their looks as often as they feel, why? BECAUSE WE CAN. If you like your sew-ins and prefer bundles, THATS OK, and if you just like to put on a new wig every day, THATS OK. At the end of the day when you walk out into the world its all about how YOU OWN IT.
